Co-author : Tanuj Choudhary   Disclaimer: This blog is a compilation of accounts by different students and should not be confused as authors’ personal experiences. Any resemblance of undermentioned accounts with authors’ personal lives is just a matter of co-incidence. This blog shall not prohibit any potential recruiter from offering us an intern.   Self-realization often generates strange emotions, especially when it involves the acknowledgement that you are not good enough. What can anyone do about it except going off to bed and trying to erase that part of memory?   I nternship is an integral part of your learning. It must be, after all, everyone is dying to find one. This blog is not about  "how internships are important for your career?" It is certainly not going to help you in anyway, whatsoever, in landing up with an intern. The internet is crammed up with blogs of that kind where   Intern Gurus   pour their   g yan ...

As I am She?

When conceived, I was filled with dreams of an unknown world that remained unseen for my parent  didn't  wish for me, Am I to be killed as I am ‘SHE’? Or was left to born as a second race, To be raped, deprived, exploited and tamed to oblige and belong to the will of he  Am I to be caged as I am ‘SHE’? I bled to work when he went to school, then sold to a husband to rule, My name died and so did I, I attempt to flee but forced to kneel, as I am ‘SHE’. But now pledge to be strong and fight, To chase my dreams, to have my rights.  I will spread my wings and will break free, And will scale the zenith, Yes I am ‘SHE’. (dedicated to all the amazing ladies that I have known in my life)

And When You Ask?

N ow that you ask whether I truly love you? How would I know? I don't feel any different, There are neither melodies nor cupid's show. Yes I am poetic but that I have always been There is no halo on my head Nor my face has sheen.   So when you ask me: TELL? Tell me how can I Speak of something unknown to me, And will always be hidden from my eye? Yes, I do feel a thrill when you try to own me. When you fall in my arms, reach for soul and my love just reciprocates yours; So ask yourself  and if you love me so I love thee.

TEDxIITR

F ortunately, I was one among 120 other students who were the part of first TEDx Event organised by IIT Roorkee under the theme ‘Being and Becoming’ and it was, beyond doubts, an enriching experience. Most of the speakers ( to be forthright all except one ) had something to share with the pack of the receptive audience. Here is an essence of what truly was a revitalizing experience for your senses, morale and zeal. #1 . SCALING YOUR START UP FROM A LOCAL PLAYER TO A GLOBAL GIANT by Mohit Saxena There is nothing more satisfying and inciting than beholding a successful alumnus. The dying hope within gets resurrected and is replaced by a famous campaign slogan “Yes We Can” .  Mohit talked about entrepreneurship and pertinent challenges in the field and fallacies that we possess and eventually how can we overcome those as he had in his venture InMobi of which he happen to be the  VP .  He called them as 6 commandments of a successfu...

As He Walked Away?

T hey say there are moments that can change your life forever but what they don’t tell is that such moments are often veiled in ambiguity of emotions and uncertainty of judgement. Fuzziness of thoughts and the understanding that your actions are remarkably significant for you is always a special mingle. Emotions should not influence vital choices in life but then why is it so that you have a spurt of emotion by the mere consideration of something important. Trying to shake off such thoughts that stir even more emotions, he stood there gazing intently in her hazel eyes in hope of discovering a refuge from his nervousness.  However, she had terminated the eye contact moments ago may be in attempt to shroud her own anxiety or was it out of shyness the fair sex is famous for?  She raised her pupil momentarily just to find that intense gaze still fixed on her; those pupils freaked out and frenzied in the sclera for few microseconds before the eyelids came to rescue as he was den...

Why I Argue?

"Working with you is like working with a dictator, you never let others have their way." I am often accused of being argumentative. There are very few people who haven’t blamed me yet, for challenging every single statement they put in front of me.  “You have to dispute everything” , “You always try to impose your ideas” , "Why! Why! Why! You always do this Why! Why!" , “ Beta, Har baat pe behas nahi karte” . After being on the receiving ends of all the above and several other similar remarks for all these years made by almost everyone I know and who knew me enough, this blog is my last attempt to redeem my impression, on all, of a belligerent human being. Yes! There are no doubts about me being inquisitive or challenging others statement. I do that but the reasons behind my actions are often misinterpreted. I frame my beliefs after a lot of introspection and thus it is natural that I expect the same from everyone else. I suppose people should kno...

Life of Pi

BOOK REVIEW "Every page offers you something of tension, humanity, surprise, or even ecstasy" 4.5/5 If you are interested in philosophy or psychology or disaster management, Life of Pi is a must read for you. After all who won't be interested in reading the account of a teenager trapped in a life-boat with a Royal Bengal Tiger, well to be more accurate, a Royal Bengal Tiger, a zebra, an orangutan and a spotted hyena and survived the Pacific for 227 days before finding land. Story of Pi Patel starts on a light note with laden with comic description of how he was named and how he followed 3 different religions but at the same time several important philosophies are presented by the author, veiled in humor.  Author, Yann Martel, has discussed the subtleties of human psychology by comparing it with animal behaviour. Through the midway book become more pessimistic and has been reviewed as over-descriptive and dull by many but I found those description q...
